Phu Quoc is famous for its fresh seafood and everywhere you go, you’ll be greeted by a bounty from the ocean. From giant lobsters to succulent squid, you can choose to have your seafood grilled, stir-fried, deep-fried, or any other cooking method you desire.
A must-try dish in Phu Quoc is the Vietnamese roll. Rice paper rolls are first lined with lettuce and Vietnamese basil leaves. Then, a flaky piece of grilled sardine is added on top. Finally, the all-famous Phu Quoc fish sauce is drizzled over the fish and herb for seasoning and a nice tang.
Once the roll is ready, dip it in a yummy concoction of fish sauce, chillies and crushed peanuts. This is the perfect appetiser to your meal.

When it’s time for dessert, the choices are plenty as well. This sweet dish consists of a wafer that is piled on with plenty of coconut candy. The dessert is then topped with a lashing of chocolate sauce and sprinkled generously with crushed peanuts for an added crunch. Then, all you need to do is fold the wafer in two and tuck in! The mess you make while eating it is part of the experience.
We’ve saved the best for last and we’re not kidding when we say this is one the best coconut ice-creams we’ve ever tasted. If you love coconut, you will love it’s thick and creamy texture. Plus, it’s an excellent way to cool down from the searing tropical heat.
