From a Malay fishing village to one of Malaysia’s fastest growing cities, Johor’s state capital has become a major metropolis with flashy development projects to match. The southern jewel’s attractions include royal and heritage buildings, and theme parks in the Iskandar Malaysia development corridor. Being on the southern tip of the peninsula, beaches are never too far away from JB.
Best time to visit
Johor Bahru’s equatorial tropical climate makes it possible to visit all year round. Weather-wise, November to February are the wettest months. June to August are the best months to go, though school holidays may mean plenty of competition at theme parks. Also note that holidays in Singapore across the straits may impact on congestion.
