A 3D2N Family Fun Johor Bahru Itinerary

Follow this fun and easy itinerary for your next family vacation in Johor Bahru!

This jewel of southern Malaysia has rapidly grown into an ideal holiday destination for the family, with plenty of kid-friendly attractions, delicious food, and scenic excursions! Here’s a 3D2N Johor Bahru itinerary that would be fun for the whole family. Whilst getting around is doable by taxi and bus, it’s best to rent a car for more flexibility.

DAY 1

Morning:  Arrive in Johor Bahru. Check in to hotel and freshen up.

Noon: Begin your trip with a wonderful lunch at ZZ Sup Tulang. Savour Johor’s cuisine such as Sup Tulang (bone marrow in thick gravy), Mee Rebus (thick noodles in sweet and spicy gravy) or Laksa Johor (pasta noodles in curry) from within a leafy alfresco dining area complete with little bamboo huts.

Afternoon: Make sure your camera battery and memory space are allocated as there is much fun to be had at the Kuso 3D Trick Art Gallery. Space-twisting and mind-bending 3D art that range from funny, excitement, horror, and romantic were crafted for plenty of amazing photo opportunities.

Opening hours: 11am-8pm (Sunday – Thursday), 11am – 9pm (Friday – Saturday)
Admission: MYR 20 (normal ticket), free entry for children below 110cm in height

Afternoon: At Desaru Fruit Farm, not only can your kids learn about various tropical fruits such as guava, mangoes, pineapples, and jackfruit, there are also other fun stuff to be enjoyed as a family, including petting zoo and dirt car ride.

Opening hours: 8.30am – 6.30pm daily
Admission: MYR 25 (adults), MYR 20 (children)

Evening: Build sandcastles, have a splash, and enjoy beautiful sunset at the tranquil Desaru Beach. Cap off the day with a delicious seafood dinner at one of the many restaurants around the area.

DAY 2

Morning: Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Kacang Pool Haji. A delicious bowl of minced meat, onions, and herbs in savoury peanut sauce, topped with sunny side up egg and eaten with toast, this local favourite is not to be missed!

Opening hours: 7am – 1am daily

Afternoon: Welcome to Asia’s first LEGOLAND! Over 40 rides, shows and attractions will fill your day with a renewed fondness for this classic building toy. Adjacent to it is the largest LEGOLAND Water Park in the world, with over a dozen rides and attractions.

Opening hours: 10am – 6pm daily (extended closing time on weekends and public holidays)
Admission: Theme Park only (Adult – MYR 180, Children – MYR 145), Water Park only (Adult – MYR 122, Children – MYR 102), Theme Park and Water Park combo (Adult – MYR 225, Children – MYR 180). Best to book early on the official website for discounts.

Night: End the night with a scrumptious dinner at Mee Rebus Haji Wahid, which serves one of the best Mee Rebus in town.

DAY 3

Morning: Begin the day with beloved Malaysian breakfast including soft boiled eggs, toast, and a hot cup of Teh Tarik at Restoran Hua Mui. If you’re up for a heavy breakfast, their Hainanese Chicken Chop is a must try here.

Morning:
Meet life-sized Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel, play around the glorious pink kitchen, and be entertained by a live show at the first Sanrio Hello Kitty Town outside of Japan! Expand your visit here with another round of family fun at Thomas Town.

Afternoon: Have lunch at Nasi Ambang BBU. This set meal which consists of rice, chicken, vegetables, salted fish, tofu, and tempeh, with a dollop of spicy gravy, coconut shreds, and sambal served on a banana leaf will give you a very happy tummy.
